VidGameDude, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT before pounding a game. If you had read the beginning, you would know the reason they are taking the nuns, and the plot. I disagree about the artwork, it is a good fit to the game and works well.
The only downside is that when you hit the space key, it takes so long to actually swing the sword that the enemy gets you first. By the time you see them, it's too late. If you make the hit instant, this game will be a 9/10 at least.
But the design scheme has some issues. Milky white paper didn't fit with the other graphics. A small change with that couldn't hurt.
I like the concept
I've actually been working on a game similar to this with doodles on paper.
My only suggestion:

I like the idea, but the setup...
The setup wasn't great. Add grid marks please, so that we can count squares. Otherwise it's blind guessing. And make the levels a bit more challenging! But other than that, it was great. I hope to see you further improve this until it becomes a hit!
I beat every level. You just have to swing under the spike. And to make 19 easier, just drop a little into the water. The enemy drops too and he dies. No need for shooting at all in that one.
